Ms. Annmarie Levins
Associate General Counsel, Microsoft Corporation
Annmarie Levins is an Associate General Counsel at Microsoft Corporation. She manages the legal support for Microsoft’s US and Canadian subsidiaries, directing the legal teams responsible for licensing and services transactions, anti-piracy investigations and enforcement, Internet safety work, and other areas.
After graduating summa cum laude and first in her class from the University of Maine School of Law, she clerked for Judge James L. Oakes on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Justice Lewis F. Powell of the United States Supreme Court. From 1985 until 1992, she was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York and served as Chief of Special Narcotics Investigations and Deputy Chief of Appeals. She specialized in organized crime and racketeering investigations and trials. From 1992-1995, she was an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Washington Law School, where she taught trial practice, ethics, and related courses. From 1995 until joining Microsoft in1998, she served in the United States Attorney’s Office in Seattle where she held the position of Co-Supervisor of the Financial Fraud Investigations Unit.
She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Brown University and a PhD in political philosophy from Princeton University.
