COUNCIL TRUSTEES

Mr. E. Y. Snowden
President & CEO, Tatara Systems

E.Y. Snowden joined Tatara’s Board in 2004, and since assuming the roles of President, CEO and Chairman in 2007, he has led the Company’s successful transition from a provider of Mobile Broadband datacard convergence solutions to the industry leader for next generation network integration in the high-growth femtocell space. E.Y. is a leader in the wireless communications industry, having managed both carrier and vendor organizations, as well as serving for many years on the Board and Executive Committee of CTIA – The Wireless Association.

E.Y. served as President and CEO of Boston Communications Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:BCGI) from 1998 to 2006, and as Chairman of its board from 2006 to 2007. E.Y. led the transformation of BCGI from entrepreneurial innovator into a proven, carrier-grade provider of mission critical applications to the largest wireless operators in the world, including billing, content filtering, network and payment services. While overseeing a global enterprise of over 500 employees, including significant operations in India and Israel, E.Y. helped to secure and deliver on 9-digit contracts for nationwide real-time billing with three of America’s national carriers. E.Y.’s success running BCGI led to his selection as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 finalist for New England, but he is most proud of the company’s selection as one of the Boston Business Journal “25 Best Places to Work” for 2005.

Prior to joining BCGI, E.Y. served as President and Chief Operating Officer of American Personal Communications, L.P. (APC-Sprint Spectrum), where he oversaw the launch of the nation's first Personal Communications Services (PCS) network. At APC, E.Y. led the development of a new customer proposition for wireless communications that contributed to APC winning the J.D. Power & Associates' Customer Satisfaction Award in only its second year of service. This startup, which E.Y. helped to build to 800 employees, was also honored by Fortune Magazine as one of the "25 Very Cool Companies to Work For" and was recognized as the fastest wireless launch in the world.  Prior to APC-Sprint Spectrum, E.Y. was Area Vice President of Pacific Bell, Inc., where he developed the business plan for the company's entry into the PCS market through the creation of Pacific Bell Mobile Services. He has also served as Chief Executive Officer for Universal Optical Company, a manufacturer and marketer of designer eyewear, and he began his career as a Corporate Strategy Consultant and Manager with the Boston Consulting Group.

E.Y. is a Director of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council and past Chairman and Director of its predecessor, the Massachusetts Network Communications Council. Calendar year 2011 will be E.Y.’s 5th year serving as a Director of the Board of CTIA-The Wireless Association.  He has also served on the Executive Committee of the CTIA Board four prior years. E.Y. holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences from Stanford University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. And while E.Y. finally hung up his cleats after a 35 year rugby career, he still plays a mean game of Sudoku.
